Sorry for so many photos but they were all so touching had to upload them all ..... Thank you donrent for sharing.

I enjoyed every one. Would love to see more. Reminds me of some of the stories my grandmother used to tell me.

Great photos of an awful time. My uncles rode the rails and my grandfather a share cropper so have head firsthand what those times were like. Happy new year to all

Really enjoyed this set of photos. Agree that the B/W is more effective than color. They are so well preserved - that's amazing.

Thank you and your friend so much for allowing us to see these wonderful photographs. I am not able to look at images such as these without thinking deeply about the circumstances behind them. For me the only one that looks a little over-posed is the one with the young woman sitting in the chair with head in hand. Her nicely waved hair and even the jacket just look too neat to help the story of the Depression years.
But even now, upon further reflection, this could represent a reasonably well off young woman journalist or the like, visiting this severly depressed area and sadly contemplating what might have happened to the family that lived here.
Yes, I so like photos that suggest a story rather than pixel-perfect pretty images and as referred to above they bring to mind Dorothea Lange's famous images.
Thanks again.

Incredibly powerful photographs. Talk about " a picture says a thousand words". Each one says volumes.

If we keep allowing our leaders the power, they're going to drive us even further down that road. Bet on it!

AND WE THINK WE'VE GOT IT BAD!

This was a mere 72 years ago....

Makes complaining about no cell service, high gasoline prices, not
enough cable channels, seem a bit ludicrous.

I am reminded to be grateful for what I do have .....

Start each day with a smile and a prayer ... then pass it on

History does repeat. I think we are getting close to this again!!!

The true feelings can be seen when you look into the eyes of these people who were caught in this sad time in history. Thanks for sharing, we have alot to be thankful for.
