Found My Home

I joined UHH two weeks ago and have been busy exploring all it has to offer. I've found countless categories on the sight where I can learn but none where I felt I was ready to contribute anything. I've been taking casual candids of my family for over 40 years and continue doing so with my three grandchildren.

My goal when I retired was to continue photographing my family while learning to make my photos more interesting and creative. I've read the critiques on the photo analysis and photo gallery and know I'm not ready for that. I also have nothing good enough yet to enter in a contest.

I then discovered the people photography section yesterday. I started browsing through the photographs and comments and began to realize I'd found my home on UHH. A warm group of family people who enjoy taking pictures and sharing them with family, friends and their UHH comrades.

I've opened a subscription to the people photography section and look forward to being part of the group. I can already see there are many people here who can help me achieve my goal of more creative family shots. I can also see there are lots of nice folks here who may end up being good friends.

John, there are many fine photographers on the forum that will assist you in your quest. Many of us are a work in progress. If it is your family you are photographing, they will be priceless. And It is fun to share what we are so very proud of, our families. It is our way of quietly bragging about our gifts from God. :) Welcome.

Thank you for the warm welcome, bedgmon. I've been taking family photos for over 40 years but they are mostly candid snapshots. I'm retired now and would like to add more creativity and imagination to my shots. After lots of reading and looking, I've decided this is the best place to learn. I especially like the warm family atmosphere on the people forum. See you soon.

Hey John,

Your joining UHH, making a comment on a photo I posted.

And our follow up PM's is an enrichment and enhancement of my life to find and make a new friend with the same Family Values and enjoyment of Photography.

I enjoy our daily updates, sharing our lives and photos of those we love.

I am thrilled you are on UHH and posting for all of us to enjoy.

Here's hoping you have a wonderful day.

Blessings,

tom

Tom,

The high point of joining UHH for me was finding you for a friend. You're right about our shared values of family and photography binding our friendship together. There's nothing fancy about our photography - just day to day pictures of those we love. I look forward to sharing your friendship the rest of my life. As my mother said 'life is good family, good friends and good food'.

John
