"How To Section"?

I'm a newbie here, but wondering if a new section titled, How To, might be received? Maybe similar ideas or topics have already been addressed, but it might help separate some contributions from the general discussions.
For example someone might describe how they put a border around their pictures. Another might describe basic steps in restoration of old prints, etc. I suppose some of these ideas are already found on various websites - and maybe many grouped in "How To" would simply hold links to those sites???
In fact a "How To" section might serve as a permanent index to a variety of techniques used by skilled members as opposed to using a search for older submissions.
Just a thought.

Sounds good to me also. Best of all it would eliminate repeating information and complaints from those who are generous the first five times, but are annoyed after the 25th.

The newly formed Post Processing section has a plethora of skilled people sitting there twiddling thumbs and waiting for questions and puzzles such as you have mentioned.

There are also vacancies in that section for further skills and knowledge that you have and needs to be shared.

Other How to sections already exist, Macro, People, Close up, Underwater and other photographic sections.

The "How to" sections already exist, but are underused.

The nearest I have found to a permanent index is the FAQ section, but like the Search engine - needs a bit of work.

Maybe the "Frequently Asked Questions" section could have a link at top of page (like search does) and most important, include an index.

If a new section is eventually formed for "how to" the moderator would have to be diligent with making the topic titles relevant. How many main forum topics just say "HELP" ??

Or the topic heading has nothing to do with content....-- and, no, I'm not referring to when it spins "out of control". Personally, I have no problem with the evolution of a conversation-- but that's another topic. ;-)
