Once again I am amazed at the quality shots you can get from this camera especially considering it's affordable price and that it is not an SLR. I have won two photo contests in two months up against SLRs. The following are some recent shots of butterflies. See my post on shooting dragon flies for the camera settings I use.
Malachite - Siproeta stelenes
Gulf Fritillary
Zebra Heliconian
Nice shots. I like the malachite the best.

Great shots.
Gorgeous images! I haven't let my SX50 out of my hands since I purchased 3 months ago :)

AWESOME photos!   I can see why you have won the photo contests. Can't say enough good things about the SX50. I've had mine since early May & it is my go-to 99.9% of the time.
Wow! Those are some incredible pictures.
Prize winners for sure! That SX50 is obviously quite the camera, but give yourself a lot of credit, too!!

They are just extra special shots, sharp as a tack. Being super picky I'd say try to get the whole wing in the shot. Buy that's just being picky. :D
How far away were the butterflies and were you using a tripod, what were camera settings. Beautiful pics.
