I entered four photos at our local Nevada County Fair in California.
I though my Sabbatier would get a ribbon, but no. My butterfly took third place and here they are.
The Sabbatier for those that haven't had the thrill of the darkroom is quite a process. They sometimes come out black. I know it doesn't suit everyone's taste so It was entered as a technical manipulation. It took at least a dozen sheets of paper before I had the effect I wanted. As I am fond of saying 'beauty is in the eye of the beer holder'!
Congratulations on the ribbon
Congrats on your ribbon!!! It is a very good shot.

Hmmmm...my mind is trying to remember the sabbatier effect...exposing the print to light during the developing phase? Congrats on third place, very respectable finish. ;-)

Yes, make the print, partially develop, stop, expose to light, do entire developing process and hopefully it doesn't come out black!
Thanks for the nice words. First went to a wisp od smoke against a black background that took MY breath away!
