Isn't it amazing how the left blames the republicans for everything, but it takes both houses and Obama to pass any laws. Therefore any laws that they are against and blame the republicans for, actually took a Democratic controlled senate and the resident to pass. (No, I didn't forget the "P", I simply will never use the P word when referring to the occupant of the White House, therefore I call him the resident.)

I read the who thing and did not notice that you had dropped the "P".

Any references to back up all this alleged "truth" that Obama and the Administration are doing more for veterans than any other president since Truman?

Here are some recent articles:

The VA's backlogs epidemic
By Alexander Nicholson - 07/19/13 09:00 AM ET

Everyone in Congress knows by now that the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has a massive claims backlog problem that has outraged the American public. But many do not yet realize that while dents are being made in one backlog, other backlogs are forming within the VA. After climbing to nearly one million claims in queue, almost 70 percent of which had been pending for more than 125 days (some for years), the VA finally began making a dent in its massive pile of backed-up veteran disability, pension, and survivor claims. The VA continued its promising downward backlogged claims trend for 12 weeks until the week before last, when the total number of backlogged VA claims jumped back up enough to wipe out the progress it has made the week prior.

V.A. Aims to Reduce Its Backlog of Claims
By JAMES DAO Published: April 19, 2013

The 250,000 claims that have been awaiting decisions for one year or longer are part of the department’s backlog, which includes all claims pending for at least 125 days. That backlog is now at 570,000 claims.

Representative Jeff Miller, Republican of Florida, who is chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, has called for Ms. Hickey’s resignation, and some veterans’ advocates have questioned President Obama’s commitment to veterans because of the department’s inability to tame the backlog.

My bold facing. Enjoy 8-)

Yes, amazing and so disingenuous. Perhaps they should think a bit more prior to casting out their net of generalities and debate with some specificity. 8-)

Funny how you non-conservative types think disagreeing with you guys you call it whining and if you disagree with us it's just your opinion......

They're the same here in Australia. We now have an election looming & they'll get their chance to show what they're made of. All we've had for 6 years is their negative whining. Not a single positive for why we should put them in.

Yeah, lots of claims and made up statistics, but zilch to back them up.

Seems politicians have a universal quality about them no matter what country a person resides in. Sometimes I wonder how much better off the world would be if there were no politicians.

I am a vet and use vet facilities and they are finally manned. The last administration did nothing for vets. But, chicken hawks seldom do!

As for the quote just more BS for the 24% who agree with the TParty and their manipulators.

The last administration did help vets. And Ex-Pres Bush still is. There was a big story on the news just yesterday about Bush competing in races WITH vets for charitable organizations that benefit Veterans.

They are mostly Lawyers... therein lies the problem, and it isn't a particularly new one...

"The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers"
— William Shakespeare, Henry the Sixth, Part II, IV, ii (1623)

Congress was supposed to be manned by regular people, the Bourgeoisie- Farmers, business owners, regular Joe's, etc. They would put in 2 years and return to their normal job. It was part of our system of checks and balances- meant to balance the power of the house of representatives who was intended or expected to be manned by the elite, upper class- lawyers, rich folks... type. When Congress became a life long profession is where we went wrong- hope is fading for a return to this "check", as it is all run by lawyers and they are by their nature self serving- pretending to be concerned with their clients or constituents when really concerned most with filling their pockets. Give them term limits of two terms and out- and there might be hope.

Wow, I can't say I've ever heard anyone criticize Obama and start the conversation with a statement like that. Personally I go along with MLK Jr who said "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." It is that character that makes me dislike BHO, I personally don't give a rats butt what color he is, I can't stand his policies. I didn't care much for Clinton's either, but at least I didn't have to worry about being called a racist because I disliked his policies.
