Sex in the sand dunes!

In the spring, I had the opportunity to observe and photograph these ladies. They had caught sight of two gulls engaged in pre-mating socialization. I tried to catch their words and expressions as they watched.

The initial question was "What in the world are they doing"...the other replied "It's mating season and these two are apparently getting to know each other".

After observing the mating, I heard one say "Oh, I get it now...but how do you tell which is which?"...without batting an eye, the other replied "The one with the big grin is the male!".

First someone posted lizards doing it on the beach and now gulls doing it on the beach...damn,I gotta go to the beach more. ;-) Great capture.
