Chama Days Rodeo.

I love it when the rider is confident enough with the horse to lean into the turns!
She is ony half way around each barrel and is already looking for the next barrel!

Yupper...and in the second image she's looking for the next barrel (or the finish line) not at the barrel she's on. Good girl.

Do you mind if we post a few with yours?

Cool beans.
(Taken with my old Nikon P90...pre-Nikon D3100.)

First three were sent to the auto dealership thanking them for their sponsorship of the High School Rodeo.

Fourth one...saw this gal having problems, knew what was going to happen, and just waited patiently for the explosion.

Thanks, Jay, for letting me share these with you.

These are great! Action!
Did the young lady in the last one hang on?
I saw a lady get thrown once. She did not come back that evening. I was expecting her, too...........

Thanks Jay.

Yupper...she hung on and had a really good run, but not good 'nuff to win. I know these kids and I was able to e-mail her a copy of it to keep in her scrapbook.

Saw a gal once take barrel #2...the horse turned and she went head-first into the fence. The way she hit it's amazing she didn't break her neck. Owie!

All great shots. It is easy to underestimate how hard both horse and rider are working in a barrel race until you stop them as you have done.

I like the way the horses are also looking for the next barrel. Or do my eyes deceive?

Excellant photos (both sets). Barrel racing is one of the lesser known rodeo events but it is also one of the most exciting. The horses and riders are amazing.
