CM...I think you and my brother would get along famously. He's the one that taught me how to catch a snake. I still don't like it, but I can do it. Nice capture...I think.. :D

Thank you. I wish I had had a brother to teach me stuff like that. I am not a very good snake catcher. Last time was probably 20+ years ago and I was going to catch a little tiny garter snake to show mine and my sister's kids. I didn't do it right and I had him hanging off of my finger. Freaked my poor nephews out, they were 5 or 6. My kids didn't think it was any big deal. So what if mom was snake bit.

When I was a kid we always caught garter snakes and would put them around our necks like we were snake charmers. They never even thought about biting us. They are great snakes, as far as snakes go.

Nice sharp pictures, wish I had some of when I was a kid. Didn't have digital then though, didn't have much of anything. I think they used gunpowder for the flash. (Kidding of course)

Thank you. I was never afraid of snakes. I will jump if they surprise me, but they don't scare me. I have heard of a couple people being bit by garter snakes, not where they break the skin just a pinch really. The one that got me was about as big around as my index finger. Really little.

Very nice shot...and the low angel makes him look even bigger. I found a Black snake...or maybe a Blue Racer awhile back at the park...and haven't seen him since.

My girls, especially the the middle and the youngest were and I guess still are Tom boys. My youngest just called me this morning asking if I wanted her to hang on to a "cool" spider she found so I could photograph it.

Thank you. I am sure people driving by wondered what I was doing laying in the wet grass in my front yard. I just read that the blue racer's population is declining. Not sure why.

I love it when we find a gopher or king snake in the garden but we just had another rattler. I'm getting tired of their visits.
Very nice close up of this snake. Nice work.

Thank you. He is on his own when it comes to something to eat, but he can live in my garden all he wants. :-D

Thank you. Luckily, while we do have rattlers in Michigan, we seldom see them. I have, knock on wood, never seen one.
