I am still working on trying to get good hummingbird photos. These are better than Saturday's one, but I am still not happy with these. They should be sharper. But I like the colors in these. That's about all I can say for them.
Checking out the black and blue salvia
Must have tasted pretty good, she came back many times during the day
She got tired of me photographing her so she flew up in a tree and sat there watching me.
And then came back for more salvia

nice color and good catch light in the eyes. nice photos but they need a little pop...don't ask me how to do it..... that's above my pay grade.
I think they're very good pictures, Susy! I haven't gotten a hummingbird yet! :(

Thanks, Sue, appreciate your looking in and comments. Well, they will still be around for awhile, maybe you'll get some chances for a photo! I hope so.

Thank you RE, I'll bet you have pretty hummers out there in California. The Ruby Throated Hummingbirds are the only type we have seen around here. Thanks for checking in and the nice comment. Sue

Thank you Carolina Wings... it's kind of you to say, but they certainly don't match up with those spectacular hummingbird captures of yours. Don't know how you do it! Thanks for looking in and commenting! Sue

Hi wrrea, they are called Black and Blue Salvia, and the hummingbirds just love them. When you first put them out, the birds just stop by and look at them, but gradually, as the summer has progressed and the flowers are more plentiful, the hummers always stop and feed. Great addition to the hummingbird habitat in your yard. Sue
thx, will stop by our local garden center this week.
