Hello all, I just bought a Canon 6d and took this picture with it the other night. I can say I am glad I saved up and went with the full frame and the L glass. I live in very dark sky country as this picture was taken from across the street from the house. Please let me know what you think. Thanks .
That is absolutely brilliant. How long was your exposure and settings ? ISO / Apeture etc etc

Howdy Sarge69, this was one of my first shots with this camera as I had just recieved it in the mail a few hours prior so I am still getting the hang of it. The settings are as follows...
M, aperture 4.0, ISO 6400 30 sec exposure,white balance =daylight. with the 24-105mm lens @24mm set to infinity.
Glad you like it. I will post more as time permits.
A wow!! photo for sure.

Nice shot... it must be really dark there... if I had done a 30 second exposure in my yard it would be fogged up from the light pollution...

Yep Bruce it is really dark here. I live in southwest Colorado at an elevation of about 8000 feet in a very small valley with little development. I will post some photos of the milky way this winter when it gets even darker. Mosin.
