I've even thought of adding something silly just to see if anyone noticed.
Next time try putting in a rule like...All photos must have been taken on a Tue. between 3 and 5 pm.
It would be funny to see if:
#1 Anyone even noticed that rule.
#2 People snuck in photos that did not satisfy that rule.
or...
#3 Some actually tried to go through their files and find an image that qualified or went out and took one during the specified time period.

All photos must be taken upside down
All photos must be taken in the Professional mode
All photos must be taken with the lens cap on

OK, you got me to laugh. I've tried your third suggestion more than once. So I guess there is no need for me to read the new rules. I am already following them.

You seriously think most people on this site "typically" process a single image for ten to twelve hours?!
I know speaking for myself I post on my wildlife blog every day sometimes with a series of up to ten images. I would have to hire a full time staff and give up sleeping and eating to maintain an average like that.
Every now and again I will have something that takes a few hours, but usually because I have no idea what I am doing and trying to figure it out. There aren't enough hours in the day to spend ten to twelve hours on one shot.

This last contest is impossible. My vote will end up counting for .0001% by the time I'm done clicking on every photo I think should win. Goodness.
I think we all suffer from the same voting problem at times. As to voting for our contests, I purposefully limit my voting to 5 images. I know there are other worthy entries, but I review and review and review until I get it down to 5. The current "voting list" makes it a lot easier to work your way through your initial list. Happy voting!
