I also had that decision and went with A55.

Do a search here at UHH for Soby A55 and see a lot of good discussions relative to your questions.

If this new career is in photography, I would suggest Canon or Nikon. Other brands can deliver wonderful images, but those two have the most extensive systems behind them. There is little that you might want to do that they do not have the equipment to do. Other than Nikon's markedly superior flash system, the two brands are very close in quality and capability.

My other suggestion is that you should consider becoming a piano player in a saloon - better hours and more pay!

I agree with sticking to Canon or Nikon. If you want to go as a career these two will grow as you need and be more versatile. I prefere Canon and it seems you have experance with them. I would how ever go with at least a 60D. for the price differance of T3i you get a much better camera.

I will certainly look into it, as i have picked one up in-at-a Ritz photo shop, nice unit, Well now ! if i make it past a big o'l bear ,reckon i made it, but this will be a hobby ,something more to get me away from home and into the wilds, or? I have been having some great times hiking, cross country skiing, fall setings,? would be fun to sell a few photos, or work for a ? with this,

have a wonderful evening, thank you J. R .

I'm a Nikon user and love my D90. My nephew is a professional photographer and likes Cannon for outdoor daylight work but prefers Nikon for indoor shoots especially in low light conditions. He give the edge to Nikon when it comes to the lens.
