Hummers are very challenging and rewarding to shoot, with a camera of course.
My best shots were taken on a tripod with the camera prefocused on an area where the birds normally feed. I the used a remote shutter release from in the house. I used as high SS as possible with an f-stop in the 11-16 range and AI servo to take several shots at a time. The results were well worth the energy and time taken to set it up.
Very nice shots by the way.
Thank you, these were taken with a D3100 and Sigma 150-500 prefocused appox 10 ft away mounted on tripod using remote release and firing multiple shots also.
