These were shot with a Nikon D50 and 18-55 non-vr kit lens. I process in Zoner. I Brightened Shadows and Darkened the Highlights a tad bit. Ran the Clarity out to 61 and did a wee bit of sharpening. That's about it.

I agree, I questioned the need until I started seeing what you could do in pp. love raw now and won't go back, people will just have to wait a little longer for photos.
