Looking to buy/trade for Sony NEX gear.

Ideally, I'd like to purchase a nice used NEX-5n or NEX-5r or Nex-6 with a lens or two. I do have some Canon DSLR lenses to offer in trade, or towards a trade/cash deal. Also might consider parting with my NEW Canon SX50HS (less than a month old).
I'm not expecting too much action to this ad; as it doesn't seem like the folks in UHH are to hot on NEX gear. Just thought I'd give it a try.

Try Ebay, there are some good deals on nice used NEX-5n or NEX-5r or Nex-6 with a lens or two. You could also sell your own stuff!

No doubt that there's plenty of options on Ebay. I use to "shop" Ebay all the time. But since having an issue with Paypal (almost required now on Ebay), I look elsewhere.
For what it's worth, I absolutely love, love my NEX-6.
But sorry, no, I'm not willing to sell or trade it. :)
Good luck. You won't regret making the move.
Don't give up on the NEX series. I just bought the 7 and I can tell you without reservation it is one the best cameras I have ever owned and used. What you see is what you get. Exposures are always right on and the ease of use is amazing. Crop features are fantastic due to the high pixels. If you can afford it get the 7.

Might I ask what gear you were using prior to your NEX gear experience?

I have gone through many iterations of cameras. Most of this story will be not helpful because an argument can be made that because I have not migrated from high-end dSLR gear to my NEX-6, my opinion on the NEX quality is of course going to be positive in comparison.
But, I have a lot of experience.
I started out in the 1960s with Fuji film SLR, then upgraded to Canon film SLR sometime in the early 1980s.
When digital came out I switched ~2004 to Canon dSLR gear. Then upgraded to more pixels ~2008.
Carried that plus a Canon super-zoom that I bought for an African safari. I was so pleased with that Canon super-zoom that I stopped carrying around the dSLR. I have gone through three separate upgrades of the Canon line.
But, I've always wanted a big sensor in a small form factor. I was never going to go back to a big dSLR. I lusted after the Sony NEX line when they first came out. When the NEX-6 hit the market I was quick to pull the trigger. It had everything I wanted.
I just completed my first major trip with the camera (Sweden, Norway, Russia, Germany, Latvia, Denmark) and the camera was perfect! I could not be happier.
Again, the purists will argue that my comparison of the NEX-6 to my prior camera is apples to oranges. Doesn't matter to me. The NEX delivers high image quality, in a small package.

Thanks for that. But I'm wondering if the satisfaction is a result of the specific NEX-6, or just a NEX in general. There are less expensive NEX's. (I'm a fan of good used stuff; having seldom purchased any of my equipment as new.)
I am hearing many people agree with you. It seems like the NEXs don't disappoint.
I still own and use a canon 7D with two L lenses. Very heavy gear but superb quality. Wanted something lighter that I can take anywhere without a big bag.

The NEX-6 had everything I wanted:
- electronic viewfinder
- pop-up flash
- standard hotshoe
- mode dial on top
- wifi connectivity
- fn (function) button (for quick access to common settings)**
I didn't want the 24mp of the NEX-7 and I didn't care about a touch-screen (5N / 5R).
All the NEX line of cameras have the same sensor, so I suspect they all pretty much take the same quality of photos. For me, the decision came down to features.
**the Sony menu system is not very good compared to what I'm used to with Canon cameras, so this short-cut is very helpful to me.

Algernon, thanks for your opinions. I'm looking at the 6. I'm finding that even my Lumix G1/G3 and related stuff is a little much for a long trip.

Have you checked Adorama or B&H? They deal in used equipment.

I sort of did a 180 on the whole NEX thing and opted for a Canon EOS-M instead. With an inexpensive adapter, I can still use any Canon EF or EF-S lens in full AF capacity. I think this will work out perfectly for me and my photography.
