I shot this with D7100 18-105MM lens at around 5PM EST. I converted to black and white and then did a hue and saturation mask to give the appearance of an old photo since the subject matter was so old. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Add mid tone contrast. The image is too "flat".

Maybe an increase (slight) in brightness might help as well. Also, what software do you have? If you have one such as NIK that allows you to increase texture/structure, this might help.
try and download NIK software silver efex pro2 free trial you will be amazed what you will get out of your photo with this software,if you want you can put it as download and I will have a go with it for you

crop down from the top a little, see if they makes it a little bit more "dynamic"
Is it fairly intuitive? I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with technology at the moment. I have the trial downloaded but have not opened yet.
If you have any trouble just send me a PM and I will advise you
let your other half take the photo...just kidding, I see absolutely nothing wrong with it ...I like it

It might seem intimidating, but you can watch tutorials on their website or youtube. That's how I learned it.
can you add the original image then I may be able to assist properly, looks like a good one.
I agree the photo looks flat .. I did ran it on Elements 11 with a high pass filter set to 3 and then used hard light setting . I think it "fixes" it some .

I dont believe cropping any more will enhance the shot. But, i do feel a little more contrast will pop the picture.

You might try adding a bit more contrast to give it some more depth. It kinda gets lost in the background.

With all the answers you gotten I'm sure everybody has a comment. Make it flatter, give it more contrast, sharpen, more saturation, etc. Any and all can be right or wrong. What was the scene actually like? Flat or contrasty? The answer is what you want the picture to appear like. As it is or isn't? This sounds like a dumb answer but it isn't. On HHH anytime you ask a question , you'll get an answer. It's fun isn't it! By the way I like it the way it is!!!!!
