Are you old enough.....
to remember these Burma Shave signs?
Don't stick your elbow
out so far
it may go home
in another car.
BURMA SHAVE
Trains don't wander
all over the map
cause nobody sits
in the engineer's lap
BURMA SHAVE
She kissed the hairbrush
by mistake
she thought it was
He Husband Jake
BURMA SHAVE
Don't lose your head
to gain a minute
You need your head
Your brains are in it
BURMA SHAVE
Drove too long
Drover snoozing
What happened next
is not amusing
BS
The midnight ride
of Paul for beer
led to a warmer
hemisphere.
BS
Around the curve
lickety - split
beautiful car
wasn't it.
BS
At intersections
look each way
a Harp sounds nice
but it's hare to play.
BS
The one who drives
when He's been drinking
depends on you
to do his thinking
BS
And my favorite:
Passing school zone
take it slow
let our little
shavers grow
BURMA SHAVE
AND MANY MORE.
I am old enough...great stuff...
Drinking drivers,
nothing worse.
They put the quart before the hearse.
I remember the Signs. When I was a youngster while riding on the passenger train from Ishpeming MI to Chicago Ill they were posted along the railway tracks. I imagine they are all gone by now. That was back in the early '60s
and another one of the years gone by....you'll wonder where your hair went when you brush your teeth with Pepsodent...and Brylcreme...a whole bunch will do it
I remember those signs on route 66 when I was a kid. I couldn't wait to see what the next one said
