OMG! Squirl, The Audubon Society Field Guide that I have should have had you to take the photos for the book. It would keep me from mis-identifying birds. Excellent photos, Squirl. Merry Christmas

They are gorgeous! Where do you find these guys? My birds are always hiding in trees with lots of leaves in the way. I have one decent small bird shot. Here it is. I'm better at shooting the big birds.

thank you, everyone, for all the nice comments! i'm fortunate, the park where thse were taken is one of the best birding sites in the state, and the birds often come close enough for very clear shots. these were taken from no more than about 8 feet away...
