Being very new to DSLR and Photoshop, what do you all do to make your portraits really shine? I enlarged photo and cropped with a slight exposure increase and that has been about it. Any other things I should start looking for? Again, you guys have taught me a lot by just reading posts. Thanks.

So adorable! I would try to lighten her face in post processing.

I would use fill flash or refelector 9my choice) so you wont have the shadow on the face. Love the pictures. - Dave

Rule, you need to use light or a reflector. The face is in shadow. You need to see the sparkle(catchlights) in the eyes. Watch the busy backgrounds or blow'em out more. That makes it pop. SS

The second and third shots are classics! At the risk of repeating:
1. Lighen the shadows in Photoshop.
2. Blur out the backgrounds a little more.

Nice work!
