I wish you luck as I am using older quality Canon FD lens with an adapter on my Canon DSLR with a $40 adapter.

Been researching on E-Bay and other places, and was left confused. Am wondering if there is a lens adapter for mounting pre 1970 Nikkor lens onto current Nikon DSLR bodies?

Yes I am aware of losing AF and having to utilize manual focusing and f stops.

[quote=JR1]People here especially me refer people to previous posts mainly because laziness I think people would rather ask than LOOK in previous posts on the search facility

Laziness has nothing to do with it in most cases. Quite often it is a person who is new and does not know this has been covered before and are very glad to be directed to the site that covered it.

However in this case the OP is not new and had asked the very same question not long before. He was given sound advice and photographs of how the early lenses are modded.

When pointed out this .. he turned to abuse.

Is there a reason why I can't pursue other possible avenues? I am well aware of previous earlier post. Perhaps another recent post generated my question.

It's tough getting called out.

Hi Pentony,
Watching a guy from Nikon on TV the other night he said Nikon have never changed their mount and any Nikkor lens will still fit...he said nothing about filing part of anything off...
Ron.
What channel is that?

There are no other avenues. A pre AI lens WILL NOT fit a digital camera body unless it is AI'd one way or another. This involves replacing the aperture ring or filing away two sections of it.

This was pointed out to you in your earlier post on this very same subject.

So when people here offer you help, don't go about being a plonker.
Is plonker a good thing? One who plonks? Here is a somewhat mundane post that is turning into outright road rage, typical of the sentiment on this blog. I'm watching you! If you screw up I'll be on your ass!
Just don't meet me face to face. You might make me cry.
Anyhoo, Terra, I LOVE your avatar! OUTASITE!!!!! Could you pm that. I gotta have it! So cool!

Amen. I still shoot a lot of film with my older cameras so using and adapter or in the case of an older Nikon lens modifying it to Canons fd mount has worked out very well. As far as the auto-focus thing...Well I do own one point and shoot for use on bad days.
