new to scene here are a few more from my stash...
i know i have alot to learn to really understand what it takes to "make" a ggod picture. i thought i had a good eye for doing so but have to learn about camera settings angle of pics etc, so here are a few more that i have, thanks for any feed back
Hi Racin, welcome! Hope you're enjoying UHH.
In #1 I'd crop a lot off the bottom since there is no detail. The moon is overexposed, but in this case, if you were to get detail there, you wouldn't see the clouds. And they are beautifully lit, so that was a nice result.
#2 - I'm not sure what you were trying to capture there. :)
Your last one is cute, though I might try to have fewer branches obscuring the child's face.
All the best.
Thank you i am still learning about a picture and a artful picture. Most of what i have were on the spot shots. Not alot of time to think about how what etc. that is where i have alot to learn. How do alot of you make a picture like that more " art" than just a photo?

#1 Moon dead center - zoom/crop to put moon on one of the third lines. Maybe lose the bottom and left.
#2 Again dead center - zoom/crop to lose the top, bottom and left of the photo. Tighter on the dogs.
#3 Good composition left to right but tilt up to eliminate asphalt and show more crowd that seems to be fixated on the car.
#4 Lose the guys and zoom in on the girls. :)
#5 Get those eyes in sharp focus and then we can talk.

There are composition tips, such as the "rule of thirds," that you can Google, or get book from library, or online. But one thing is to realize that "on the spot" shots might appeal to you for the memories or to share "look what I saw!" but the more artistic shots take some thought, such as what about this subject or scene appeals to you and how can you best present it? Looking at things from different perspectives is nice, too -- such as getting down on your stomach or lying on your back :) Another biggie is the LIGHT. Taking photos in early morning or early evening, or back-lit, or shadows or silhouettes. Almost always much more interesting than mid-day.
Oh - and look at other people's photos and figure out what it is that appeals to you: subject, lighting, perspective, overall composition.
Thank you for your responses. That helps me know what i need to work on to make a picture a photograph. If i can call this a hobby without offending anyone, its one i can do anywhere anytime and have fun with it!! It doesnt cost much (like my other hobbies) thanks again. I will work on it and post more as i can.
It's most definitely a JOYOUS hobby and you have come to the right place to share and learn.

here is a "cropped" version of one of the above photos. i dont have alot that i can do (which right now is a good thing lol ) but i think the idea i was shooting for was better..... maybe
Cropped moon photo is great, nice job!
Cropped version is very dramatic and eye-catching. I hadn't envisioned so much crop - looks super!
Thank you much appreciated
