I've been watching this little family of ducks at a nearby pond. So sweet-they're always together. The white duck is so much larger than the other grown duck, wondering if they are the same species?

OK, everybody swim!

Living in Holland was such a treat because we would see this sort of thing every spring. The water fowl were a pleasure to watch. I truly miss that part of my life.

All of the ducks are Mallards and their guest is one called a Swan Goose who has adopted this flock.

Isn't that cute! I've watched them for days and they never part. I thought it was the mom. I thought it resembled a swan. Thanks for the info!

It's called a SWAN goose but it is a goose. No relation to a swan. One often wonders how the ABA (American Birding Association) comes up with the names of birds, or changes them as they see fit.

Very cute + fun experience for you. I saw a similar-looking goose as yours that appeared to have adopted a Canada Goose family this spring.
