[quote=NaplesAlexandra]Welcome to the HOG, Alexandra. I hate to comment on newbies and also those that don't ask for help. Most on this site want to improve. On your dog picture. The horizon is not level, and the dog (your subject) is dark. Some post process can fix that, but best to take a reading on exposure direct close to the dog next time. Good luck. David (Just a bit east of you)
Thank you for your input! I like creative criticism, although I have to admit most of my pictures are taken with my iPhone, my dog picture was random with no editing... I'll keep practicing :) thank you!

Your welcome. Even snap shots can be tweaked to make them better. iPhones are fine to practice the capture of a picture and to study compositon. Good luck. David
Welcome Alex - you have already received your first bit of help. iPhones are alright, but if you are serious about becoming a better photographer, even a moderately priced point and shoot camera would be better for you to learn on. Hope you learn lots on this forum.
I find a black dog a very difficult subject -- hard to get good detail. We have a new black "puppy" (7 months and 60 lbs) and I am still trying to get the right exposure. Will try David's tip. Welcome!
