Was he a rescue? We wanted to adopt a greyhound, but we had two shih tzus, and they thought it wouldn't be a good combination.

Yes jerry ... he's a rescue. As many of them do, he faced a very uncertain future after his racing career. Not now though.

Actually, a former race dog's future is not very uncertain. They're not making money, so give them a shot.

Good one Rob. Although I know nothing of his race career I suspect he wasn't particulary successful as I often walk him in an area where there's lots of rabbits, and he ignores them (poor form for a greyhound) :roll:! So I'm not sure he'd be interested in a rabbit coat.

Great shot of a gorgeous animal! I work with a Greyhound rescue group here and I always enjoy seeing pictures of former racers in their forever homes. Thank you for adopting him and for the photo.

GREYHOUND! I lost my grey to unknown neurological problems last August but I get my new rescue in 2 weeks! I didn't know there was another grey fan on the Hog! Yay!

I actually work with Homes 4 Hounds out of Waldport, OR as their Seattle/Olympia point of contact/coordinator/jack of all trades. They are generally up here at our local PetSmart on the 1st Saturday of each month.

I get mine from Greyhound Pets of America NW. They're headquartered in Portland but are headed south in a week and a half to show off their recent retirees to southern Oregon. People just don't know how beautiful and living these big babies are! I live animals if all types...but greyhounds are st the top of the list.
