Did ya ever just stop and wonder what all an old oak tree has been through, thoughtout the years it stood there growing bigger and bigger........ All the twists n turns it makes to make up its beauty to show the world. Even a tree that has died can still stand pretty strong for some time for us to view its masterpiece of creation.
Here are just a few of my favorites I have came across.

Beautiful photos, these words by David Harris seem appropriate.
The old dead tree stood
gnarled, weather torn;
its limbs were now brittle.
What stories could it tell
of the centuries it had lived,
the passing lives it had seen,
and the storms it had weathered
when it was young and strong.
When its foliage was green
and gave shelter from the rain.
It must have been beautiful
when it was young
with its canopy of green,
and a nesting place for little birds
among its evergreen.
Now they only used it
as a resting place whenever they pass by.
The old dead tree,
which had seen so much life.

Interesting shots, the one titled "Reaching out" stands out IMHO.
These would make great post cards, and enlarged prints. Awesome job!!!!

Wish I could catch this one in a sunrise...or learn to fake it. So far refusing to go down but will someday warm my hearth.
Trees and silhouettes...two of my favorite things...Reaching Out is my fave but all are well done.
Love pics of stately trees at sunset/sunrise. very nice
Here's some trees that I like! The cactus may not be technically a tree, but it is tall enough for it. The oak tree at the Alamo was a sapling when the battle was fought.
Cedar tree near the Grand Canyon
Arizona Cactus
Banyan Tree
