My first moon shot. Ive shot many of night photos with the moon in them but I never tried to shoot the moon till about 11 o'clock to night. Put my trusty old nikon on my tripod with my 55-300mm lens attached.Turned off auto focus,turned off VR. Set ISO on 200. Apertue on f/11 SS at 1/200. Set lens at 300mmand focused manualy. Slowly pressed the sutter. Downloaded and croped the photo. Not near the best Ive seen on here. but its ok for my first time I shot the the moon. All comments welcome, good or bad. Im open for any help I can get. Photo to follow.

I'd have to say that the moon looks a bit strange down there in Florida...nice picture!

I think its excellent Hal, when seen like this the ole moon looks rather battle worn...sure has some serious scars

I was at 1000 shutter 5.6 at 400 mm on my 100 400 canon L , my 60d camera has zoom when in live mode so I used the screen to focus and a remote to release shutter .

After two cloudy nights, finally the moon came out last night, the full moon of June 23 ! I was so disappointed when I heard the thunder and saw the lightnings from about 9 pm until 12 pm. but at 12:10, here it was ! Glorious !

That's great, I waited 3 months, with a reminder in my phone & iPad, only for it to be heavy cloud & no shot
