I thought we were supposed to provide a more comprehensive explanation of the problem rather than just "Please Help" so you-all wouldn't have to go to the trouble opening it. Make up your minds people!....Just never satisfied......Jeees!

Winter, I absolutely agree, when I saw the title, I immediately knew EXACTLY, what help you were seeking, and was all to willing to help, eventhough I knew absolutely NOTHING of any of those lenses(I shoot spuds). But as my great great great great great great Grannie(she was 197) always said' "it's the thought that counts". Anyway, since almost all the advice given on the Hog is useless anyway, I fit right in!
Now, had it said, "help needed", I also know that the average person, especially Winter, are way beyond help, so I just move on.
And if you try and give REAL help, most have no idea what you are talking about.
For example, probably the only really meaningfully and technical posting I've seen since joining the Hog, is Canon vs Nikon. It goes right over the heads of most and we're accused of waisting bandwidth(I still don't know what that is?).
So SHAME on admin. PS, I got a great BIF of an ostrich the other day though!!

Edit: Winter, funny that admin cut the heart out of your title, and left you only with, "please help" ?!?!?

But in the case of Winterrose...cockpit flatulence is always a problem and totally unacceptable during take offs and landings...
However it is often the perfect response to the Captain's mystical questions....

This is true and your knowledge and insight is remarkable. Flatulence is a problem in this confined area and is most often related to sudden severe stress caused by a reflex tensing of the abdominal cavity. The most common type of stressor might be running off the end of the runway or being hit by a Jumbo Jet but I recall one Captain who, because his reputation for questionable landings followed him around like...well, like a bad smell (pardon the pun) it caused all his flight crew to routinely don their oxygen masks on every descent. I rather vividly remember my first encounter with this "Mister Magoo" of the airways. As I monitored the final approach, this Captain began to proclaim that "a good landing is one that you can walk away from whilst a great landing is one where they can re-use the aeroplane". This caused both the First Officer and myself a somewhat escalated response.

That reminds me of the time I was flying Delta into Sacramento. The pilot mad a beautiful landing, followed be the most wrenching stop I have ever encountered. As they landed, one of them must have accidentally hit (or slammed into) the Public Address Activation Switch. What follows is the conversation we heard from the cockpit;
Co-Pilot: "Wow, Sacramento has the shortest runways I've ever seen."
Pilot: "You got that right, but take a look; they're the widest in the world."

Then there was the instance when, after a particularly lengthy flight the Captain remarked into the open PA microphone..."What I need now is a hot blonde and a cold beer". The Purser, upon hearing this, was stopped by a passenger as she hurried toward the flight station. "You forgot the beer, deary..."

If you are not going to punch pennies, well just get them all. Then spend weeks putting them on and off camera bodies and drooling over them. To heck with taking photographs, love the equipment.

I wonder how many times you have traveled by air and placed your very LIFE into the hands of those whom you now choose to ridicule.

Being an airline employee myself for over 40 years, I am well aware of this. A responsible and capable pilot is just one tooth in the cog when it comes to airline safety. As I said ,this is NOT a forum on the aircraft industry!

No, but it is a forum known for bantering among members. We usually get around to the original and I think we do it it a rather thorough manner. Perhaps, if you don't appreciate the friendly chatter, you could contact Admin and offer to serve as the anti-fun officer for the forum. This whole thread has been an exercise in response to a humerous OP. You certainly have the right to "unwatch" if you wish. Personally, I hope you'll stick around and enjoy the lightheartedness.

It is sometimes difficult to judge whether comments are made in the way they were intended. The thing is,there is a general chit-chat section. I have seen comments made about other members who disregard these rules, and get briefed for doing so.
Also, if certain members belittle other member for posting questions which in their opinion seem inappropriate, then they themselves should set an example to other members.

Please don't make your problem my problem; or anybody else's problem. Take it up with Admin if you want to be so miserable as to wish to stifle a bit of harmless fun. Or if you are game to, then take it up with the originator of this particular thread. I for one wouldn't like to try it, I have heard that he does nasty things to your jocks with you still in 'em.
