NikonJohn: These are two great photos you have posted. The house really adds a lot to the scene. The second one added nature with the birds and all the footprints in the snow.

Thanks for posting

Steve

Thanks Steve, it was a beautiful morning. What the pictures don't capture well is the way the sun glistens off the frost, it's just fabulous in person.
If I'm lucky I will see about one or two hoar frosts per winter.

Hey Charles, I finally found them. ;)
It was Dec 27 2004 when I took these with my Nikon D70. It was a beautiful morning then and I enjoyed catching the scenes. I am just posting these two, hope you enjoy them. :)

Thanks for sharing! Its really lifts your spirit to see scenes like this in the Winter. We had another 2" of snow over night. The sky is blue and it should be another great photograph day

I have added a photo of a local Native American Cemetery here
in Chiloquin, Oregon. My son in law is Native and many of his family are here. For me it is a beautiful Winter scene and resting place.

Thanks Charles, a hoar frost is a beautiful sight. You're lucky to have so many in a row. Happy shooting! :)

The first is majestically beautiful in its display of a house in a simple winter setting. Thnx for posting.

Beautiful. I like 2 best. It shows off the tree the best even thought the rule is broken.

All are beautiful, but if up to me, I'd go with number three as best composition, and Infocus's crop. Don't care for the fence in that one which clutters up the foreground and distracts from the spectacular beauty of the tree.

Came across this tree and felt that this was a gift from Mother Nature for the holiday season. Was wondering what the best cropping would be?

#1 for me
