Regardless, it sounds like a good device to me. It is small and compact as well. It is great we have members with so many different ideas to present. It give the questioner many more options than if they just try to surf the net looking for advice. The members here actually use the equipment and can give their own feelings based upon that knowledge.

Yep. And by now, it would be good to see if there are even better units out there. The thing is to find users that have actually used them, rather than believe the marketing hype. Sometimes the marketing hype is true and sometimes it's exaggerated a bit. In my case, I lucked out with the Jobo unit, but I didn't with the previous one. Hopefully, other people wont be burned and will get something that works and is easy to use.

As long as you time sync (to the second) between the camera and the gps device you should be able to geotag your photos with a free program like garmin basecamp.

If you don't mind doing it in post processing or after post processing try Microsoft's 'Pro Photo Tools' it's free and all you do is open the file and drag it onto the map where it belongs. It also allows you to add metadata.

That's fine if you can remember where you took the photo. The problem with me, is I don't remember where I took the image. If I did, I would not need geo tagging. If you travel a lot and go to several countries on a trip, I find it difficult.

I bought a hiking gps and synchronized the time on it with the time on my camera. When I take a photo I want to remember the location of, I just push a button on the gps and it records a way-point.
Once home, it is easy to join the way-points with the photos by comparing the times. Bit more work when I get home, but it works for me. Of course if I take a number of photos in the same are, I only record the way-point with the first one.
