My first year at Delta College a student in the cafeteria shouted at me, "Hey Pitchur Man, take my pitchur." Since then I've been known as Pitchur Man. That was more than 50 years ago.
I have since become a commercial/industrial photographer working for organizations such as the Dow Chemical Company, Michigan State University, State of Michigan government, General Motors, and many advertising agencies and design studios.
I began shooting digital in 2004 and became an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop CS4 in 2009. Although an "expert," learning the program is a continuous process.

Welcome to the site from a former Michiganian (Big Rapids) now in the land of gators snowbirds retirees and huricaines. Of the four I believe its the snowbirds who drive me crazy the most. You will find this a great site helpfull people and some truly fantastic shots. Some of the best posted come from non professionals. I love your beginning of the universe and anyone who can get certified in photoshop has acomplished quite a feat. I dont miss michigan in the winter but late summer early fall I do. I also miss Elias Brothers Big Boy, Vernors, and Jay's potato chips. Heard an interesting historical fact about Jays. It started out Japps potatato chips but suddenly changed its name on December 8,1941. True story
Great - another one that I'll have to work at not to be intimidated by. Yes; I very likely I overstated that for dramatic effect. Truly though those are very nice pictures. Beside learning what one should do as to rules and guidlines, what I really enjoy is how people see and record their world. I will be watching & if my mind willing maybe learn a few things. Welcome.
I live close to the island!!! Cool SPI look!

I meant to ask if you worked for MSU you might have known my father Steve Voorhees he was the Head Photographer in public affairs at Ferris State from 1968 to the mid 90's. He had contacts all over the state and was the American Association for University Photographers photographer of the year in I think 76,77,or78. My middle age brain cant go back that far. ;-)
