I took a brand new 77mm ND filter to the beach and inevitably got salt spray on it. Any good suggestions for cleaning the filter?

Will add to the above.....plenty of H2O first so as not to use the cloth as sandpaper.

As Rex says...plenty of water to get rid of the salt deposits before using a cloth. I've had great luck with a solution used mostly for plastic lenses (which our lenses certainly are not). It consists of one part water with one part alcohol with a couple drops of Dawn for dishes. Works great on filters! Filters are pretty much all I ever clean since I have protective filters on all my lenses.

I concur with all the above. I should have given more clarity to my answer. In my defense, the above is a given.
