The tower is located in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge located near Lawton, Oklahoma.

I like the composition of the first one, and the lighting of the second.

There several things I like about the first photo over the second. The overall composition. The sky has more of pinkish like sunrise, or sunset color. It has a back lit effect, which has disappeared in the second photo, The flowers in the foreground are more pronounced in detail. Maybe it could use a little added brightness, I say a little, and some increase in detail (sharpening.)
Another thought would be to crop off the tree on the left, which would still let the photo retain the rule of thirds.
