Was asked by my daughter's school to shoot this dance recital at her high school (my youngest is a senior this year and also the dance team Captain). I flew in from work in Cleveland, took my bags home - and went directly to the event. Doing this type of Dad thing is in the Parenthood Manual :-).
The selected images are my first low light 'event' taken with the Nikon D700 FX I purchased a few months ago, I am very impressed with the low noise captured with this sensor at higher ISO. I shot the event at 2200 ISO. All images were hand held captures - no flash.

The last image is a group photo taken the following Monday (used the SB-600 for this sitting). I have to say that I am SO PROUD of the grace and beauty that we have been blessed with, by the gift of Ivy Lynn Davenport - in the center of this image (she will always be Daddy's baby :-)

I like #9 the best but they all look really good to me, I recently took pictures at a school function and I was very disappointed in them. Good job as far as I am concerned

IMHO you did a fabulous job of capturing the moments! I'm sure your daughter and her school are really pleased with the results.
Very nice, I'll bet the kids are very excited about them.

A set of great photographs of a school function. Well done they are the best non Pro Pix. Also better than most pros would have done!

Fantastic job of capturing the action. I don't think I have ever had this quality of results with any of my atempts of low-light photography.
