Ok all you Nikon experts out there..next question!..lol.. Active D Lighting and bright sunlight what do they have if anything in common and do you or what do you use it for...I had a photo shoot this past Saturday at a outdoor rest late in the afternoon from 4pm to about 8..bright sunlight was shining directly on me could not hide from it bc of the nature of the event..with lots of shadows..used Active D lighting on normal mode thinking it might help...does that have any bearing on bright sunlight and what is it used for exactly...read about it in the manual but still not exactly sure. anyone know out there?... here are the photos from the event take a look and let me know what you think... thank you..

Worked great for you it would seem; Nothing to compare it to!
ADL is Nikon's way of saying HDR I am told.....not the funky stuff, but what it was meant to do. :)

Take your camera out and take some pictures under conditions that are the same. Use all the differant active D settings and also with active D off. Then compare. I got my D90 for active D lighting and can see a great diferance between it and pictures taken with my D80 under high contrast conditions. - Dave
