You aren't capable of taking a shot that belongs in the trash, Randy!

That's funny (and very flattering, thank you both, Donna and Michael!) Not only am I capable of it, the original name of your computer's 'delete' button was 'Treepusher Photos.'

As it took a lot of ink to do all that lettering, in a cost-cutting move, after some discussion, both Microsoft and Apple changed it to the more economical 'Delete,' saving them millions.

Both Jobs and Gates sent me letters explaining the change, admitting the new 'Delete' button was still meant for my photos.

"...And when the Lord saw what Jobs and Gates had created, He smiled upon it, saying it was good. And He sent an Angel unto me, and the Angel said, "Lo, I have seen thy photos, and they stinketh. Thou shalt use of this button freely."

And I used of the blessed button, and it was good.

And the Angel of the Lord smiled, for he saweth my zeal with the blessed button.

And the Lord smiled, for He saw my trashcan filled to overflowing; and it was good. Blessed be the name of the Lord." --psalm something or other, I forget the exact number.

BumpBump in another softened pose. I was very pleased with this, but overall I'm still ambivalent about the softening process. Like it? Hate it? Don't be shy about criticizing.

I think it's beautiful. I wouldn't change a thing about it.

Frankly I see zero possibility of improvement.
FLAWLESS pretty much covers it.
I envy your processing skill!

Strong words, Bruce... But I love them! Quite the compliment. Thanks very much.

As regards the processing, if I can do it, so can you! And always happy to pass along my tricks, if you want to PM me. None of it's hard, just a lot of steps.

Thanks very much for looking!

Thanks very much for the 'well done.' I appreciate that. And I agree completely. The original was nothing special, and destined for the trash without some PP magic.

A pinch of this and a dab of that, wave the wand, hit 'enter' and suddenly it's worth a second look.

Might be a bit extreme, but that was the goal here from the start, to focus attention on the eyes.

Thanks very much for 'getting it.' : )

The eyes are really beautiful, and so is the face. The remainder of the cat has a sort of spooky aspect. And that has been attributed to cats for centuries, so it belongs here. Good work!

Thanks very much, Ed. I appreciate the kind words. Mixed opinions on this one, and I'm glad to have your vote in the 'plus' column.

Thanks very much for looking! : )

Great shot of a beautiful cat I am an animal lover & an animal shooter. I have been a dog person most of my life. I remarried a few years ago , now I am a cat lover , my wife has three cats.

Ok, I'm 4 days late to the party and I haven't even read what everyone else has said. Which is my bad. So many apologies are due but here I go saying something anyway.
Here's what I like (a lot)-- her eyes. the back ground color,
her fur colors, her expression.
Here's my thought on the softening... I like it but I wouldn't make it start so close to her head. Maybe more towards the yellow part on the left, and after the beard or long neck fur on the right. The softening so close to the head makes her head look like its sitting on a blurry fur ball. (which of course, she may be) and reminds me of the Cheshire Cat's head.
Now I'll go talk to the other guests and see what they had to say.. thanks.

Thanks very much, Photosmoke. Cats are definitely cool! And if you have three, you're just getting started, lol.

I appreciate your detailed thoughts on this, CarlySue. Bumpy is pretty much a puff ball no matter where you look, lol. But I'll give a try at pushing the blur further back and see how that turns out.

The voting has leaned slightly more to the negative on the softness issue, but that's okay. Didn't expect everyone to like it, as it's more art than photo after everything I did to it.

Tried doing a few of these. The effect isn't quite the same with them all. Thought this one was best, and liked it enough to keep doing them, but they need some work before they're really ready for prime time. But I'll get there.

Thanks very much for looking, and I really appreciate the input!
