Next day or so I will be purchasing a 70-200 F4L. Adorama has new, two used and a demo shown on their website. I know they reputable,
and previous posts have been positive. My question is has anyone had any issues w/used equipment from them? We are only talking about than 100 bucks between them, but the money would pay for a tripod collar that I need due to my med induced tremors . Just looking for some re-assurance before push the button.

Thank you,

Daddybear

If you are unsure, split the difference and buy the "demo"- it has been out of the box but only used at counter displays.

Bear I think you'll be very pleased with that lens from Adorama. Outstanding customer service...and if the thing shows up not quite up to snuff...(most are better than advertised)...just a simple phone call can fix things right up. Enjoy your lens.

For $100, I'd get the new. As far as the demo model goes, I'd pass. Just go to walmart on a busy day and watch the camera dispaly shelf. Some "demos" get very abused. With a lens of this caliber, however, depending on where it was, it was probably watched over carefully. Either way, for me, brand spanking new is worth $100.

Thinking the new will be best. Just trying to be frugal when I don't have to be.

Never hurts to save a buck. Buying the best gear for the least cash is only common sense.
IMHO There is always "THE NEXT GEAR PIGGY BANK"
Stand PROUD od the frog skins you saved!

I have bought used and demo lenses and have found that Adorama, B & H and keh always overrate the quality of the lenses that I received from them.

Never have had a problem with any of these items in the years that I have been using them. One of the L lenses I bought new had a serious focus problem, but luckily it happened within the first year of usage and Canon was expeditious about the repair.

The above companies have a solid rep, used items from them will serve you well.

I think you are fine! In fact, there might be slightly more risk with a new lens. It's a great lens. Either way, you are going to love it!

Walmart isn't Adorama in clientele or counter help.

Really not risking much with Adorama, if you have issues with the lens they'll make it right.

I did the same with a 70-200 sigma and went the used route. I think it was an E or E+. Saved some $ and couldn't be happier...

If it were me and there was only 100.00 between new and demo...I'd pick the new one.

It's 8 McDonalds visits difference....not worth hassling over just in case....but really...Adorama is very reputable and won't leave you hanging.
