The moon in person was HUGE and stunning but when I took a photo of it it was just not showing the beauty and size. I was using my canon 35mm 1.4 L and I know I probably need to be using a telephoto lens of some sort but just wanted to know if there was a certain trick for the moon to look just as I see it with my eyes when I don't have a zoom lens on hand.
Best thing to remember is that the light on the moon is directly reflected from the sun. Expose accordingly.

Nice shot. I would've set the moon a bit to the left 1/3?
