Number 2 seems to be a bit under saturated, colors are flat, and the waterfall seem too dark to me, might help to lighten it some. Just a suggestion.

Number 2 seems hazy. I've read UV filters don't do a lot for digital, because modern sensors aren't sensitive to UV light. But I wonder here - would a UV filter have helped here?
I am not sure the area was a little hazy when I took the photo

Reminds me on my Boy Scout days in the early 1950's.
However during my camping trips it mostly rained.

If you use a photo editing program that has levels, I use PS elements; you can just dupe the photo and change the new layer to overlay for more contrast. Doug
