I broke the screen on my olympus vg 120 I find it a nice little camera that I can carry anywhere.
I stumbled on a youtube video it is in German but just watching what the technician did was enough to carry out the same repair myself. I bought a second hand spares or repair one on ebay (it had a stuck lens) for £10 If you have a small Philips screwdriver and and good eyesight to see the little screws, it is a very simple repair. I am glad I did not just bin it when I broke it.

You're not really missing anything by not understanding the narrator. She's just giving general information about the company's services -the distribution of replacement parts for cameras, their policy, etc.; she's not giving instructions to the specific repair taking place in the video.

I've found that LCDs are probably the easiest part to get to in a point and shoot or bridge camera. As long as you don't tear the flex interconnect circuit, it's easy.
The lens assembly? Fuhgeddaboudit!

For future reference, screws used on many Japanese products require a different kind of screwdriver - not Phillips. It looks like a Phillips, but it is slightly different. I bought two sets on eBay. I was taking a lens apart, and the Phillips was not gripping very well. Someone on here told me about the different type of screwdriver.

thanks jerryc41, I googled "japanese phillips like screw drivers" and found references.
Amazon has a limited selection. Google provides more choices. I got mine from Moody Tools.
I carry JIS screwdrivers in my camera bag
Never know when you need on of them
Also, remove and keep the screws in sequence- they may not be the same length. It' be important to get the right ones back in their correct holes.
