Polaroid makes a great little 10.2 mp camera. Bought one for my wife and it's really great. Takes nice pics. Got it on e-bay for $60.00 a year ago. Model # is i1036

Sounds like a good little purse or pocket camera for ther money....tks. I'll keep it in mind.

But looking for a "top of the line" point and shoot as in a Canon or whatever......possiblly. Multible control options.

Canon's G12 or SX 30 (if you require more reach) should both be considerations.

Or the new SX 40

Yes, this is what I'm looking for...in this class....thanks. I have a standard to start with now.

Canon SX40 HS 12.1MP Digital Camera with 35x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-inch Vari-Angle Wide LCD.

I live in Kansas....open farm country. I get a lot of shots from my moving work van. Need a great point and shoot AUTO FOCUS to catch a lot of images while on the back roads while driving home. Some times I need to just roll down the window and catch shots as I go by.

Just bought the Nikon P7000 (current model is P7100) and couldn't be happier. It's like a point and shoot DSLR. Canon makes the Powershot G11 (current model is G12) that is very similar but much more expensive.

I got a Nikon P7000 this spring. Took it out to Oregon this spring and it made wonderful pictures. If I didn't want to play with my D300s I would have left it home,:). My youngest son just took it to use for Christmas. So now I have my eye on the P7100.

This was the son taking it out of the window,ha.

My favorite is Panasonic FZ100. Can be an excellent primary.

I have just bought the new Sony HX9V. 16 mega pixel, full HD movies and It's 'intelligent auto' mode is amazing. It instantly analyses the picture you are trying to take be it landscape, portrait, night shot etc., and sets the camera appropiately. I would imagine great for shooting out of the truck window. Also takes fantastic sweep panorama photos. 48 meg file size.
