I think you just did what you wanted to do. Wording the title something like "Recommendations for a Camera Bag" would have been more clear.

The problem with camera bags is there are too many choices, and no matter what you buy, you will buy another eventually. I've used Think Tank and Lowepro, mainly. When you narrow it down to a particular model, red the reviews and ask for opinions here.

Jerry is right. Over the years I have changed bags so many times as my taste and needs have changed. There is no perfect camera bag. On the plus side all of the bags which I out grew I gave to people just getting started or those on a very limited budget which lead to some very nice friendships.

I don't see a way on this forum to set up a recommendation or user pole on camera bags. Wanting a nice shoulder bag with easy access to my camera.
Have looked at the Domke, Tamrac and Temba. Not sure about the metal clips on the Domke. Looks like it might be cumbersome to unhook top while on your shoulder.
Any and all insight to a great camera bag would be most appreciated from a new user.

You start out with one camera bag that fits your current needs. Then one becomes 2, then 3, then 4 then 5, should I stop now?

It's a poll, not a pole. You may be able to correct the spelling in the title.
Not a bad idea, but each person has their own tastes ans that changes. I used to love my Domke F2 bag for film, but I wouldn't get another. Right now I'm using an F64 bag and it works for me. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/91688-REG/f_64_SCMB_SCM_Large_Case_Black.html

Why can't it be pole! Please thank you!

I didn't leave enough info from the beginning! So, here goes:
Nikon d5100
28-55
55-200
sb-700
going to get a 70-300
misc filters and hoods

The Think Tank is an option. Also looked at the System MFX and Tenba Discovery bag. This opens away from your body and I like that feature! The Tamrac 5612 is another nice bag. I am looking for a shoulder bag. Price in the $100 to $150 range if necessary. Also would like to be able to insert camera with a 300mm lens on board. Hope this helps you and me.

I am currently using a Zeikos bag. I also have others in different sizes. Sometimes my regular camera bag is really too big, and I change to something smaller. Other times I want more room.

Camera bags are available in any number of sizes and configurations. Your best bet would be to see if your things will fit in the g=bag that you are looking at. Several places have camera bags on hand for sale. Try Best Buy.........

Best to get a shoulder bag that doesn't look like a camera bag. They're less likely to be stolen and usually much cheaper. I use a back pack to store gear but never travel with all the gear. Usually take a DSLR with one extra lens and a backup point-and-shoot. These items plus a toilet kit easily fit in a shoulder bag from Office Depot.

I have the Lowepro 250 and it works for me. Has the slide off of one arm and open the back pack and easy access to you camera. Another thing was that I lost the half of the belt snap together, fast release. I sent Lowepro and email and they sent me a replacement on the house. Guess they stand behind their products.... I would say go onto YouTube and check out what you want and need to be happy with your purchase.

My preferences are different if you are considering a roller, shoulder bag ( several sizes) or back pack. Other than Domke Lowe Pro or Think Tank are great based on model. I'd open my bag closet but it takes 2 to close the door and I'm alone this week;-)

Lowepro Flipside 500 AW is what I have. It just barely fits under the seat on United Airlines.

I have a small Tamrac sling bag I use for one camera and a larger Tamrac backpack for my other camera and it holds everything but the kitchen sink. I did buy my husband a larger Tamrac 9X sling type bag, however, he has never touched it. Poor guy always ends up carrying for me, since I hurt my back. The bag is brand new with tags if you are interested. I have it listed on ebay.
