3 days in 30 seconds.
https://vimeo.com/66010942 I was bored and feeling a little trapped in a winter storm near Tacoma. I set up my Panasonic camcorder in my office/studio, put it on automatic and plugged the power cord into the wall. I started and stopped it during daylight hours for three days.
I expected to see snow piling up and then melting.
It turned out to be mostly useless video, except for giving me something to do for three days.
The one surprise I didn't expect, and the reason I'm posting it, is the motion in the bushes and especially the tree on the left. The big maple gradually bends its branches with an ice load. Then, on the third day, it looks like it is alive and growing skyward, except for one major limb.
Camera settings were automatic and PP was done in Premier Elements 11, including additional speed up.
Enjoy!

I started going through the process and this is unbelievable. This could take me all day! Already, it has sent me to four different sites to look up, download, or follow directions, and the file hasn't even gotten to the SD card yet.
Something ain't right !!! I'll send you a PM.
As if I didn't have extra time on my hands, Thanks a lot Jerry for bringing this topic up. And thanks to Swamp Gator I now have a new distraction.
All I ask, can you quit coming up with new ideas?
You're killing me, guys.
please tell me what time lapse means.
I have heard this before. will it be like slow motion ?
thanks.

Look at the link submitted by bsprague, at the top of the page. Time lapse is a technique in which you take one picture about every five seconds and then put them all together in a short movie. Sunset and clouds are popular subjects.

Sounds like you got a good deal on that.
I also have two different time lapse apps for the iphone and one good thing about that it they process the final video right there in the phone when you are done shooting. But I'm not sure if tons of clicks are OK long term in the iphone camera or not.
If you've got an iPhone, time lapse photography is almost a "no brainer" (not sure about other "smart phones".)
~ no wear and tear (no moving parts)
~ 1080p HD
~ an almost limitless choice of settings for record and playback.
~ execution is as "user friendly" as it gets
~ and as Swamp Gater has already pointed out, processes to finished product
on the spot.
The down side is that, depending on the length of the capture, you will need to plug it in so as to not run out of battery life. And you will also want to turn on "airplane mode" so as to not interrupt the recording process with a phone call.
I really think we're going to have to start calling these things something other than phones.

I feel your pain. A friend of mine got me started when he thought he was doing me a favor by showing me his time lapse app on his iphone which after viewing the results I had to rush and get the same app and start doing TLs with the iphone.
But was that good enough? Oh no, I had to get an timer for an older DSLR, then buy a program to process the videos, and I'm still working on the whole mess.
Is it fun though? Hell yeah!

Yup this is all true, the iphone is certainly handy for doing TLs and that's what initially got me started on the whole darn thing.
A week or so ago I got a TL app called OSnap which they claim incoming messages or calls will not halt the TL process so you don't need to put it in airplane mode but I probably would anyway.
It was free at the time but I think it's $2.99 now with the Lite version being free.
Worked nice the one time I tried it so far.
Thank you, and Jerry and others.
As has been said already, I am not launched on another distraction from what I should be doing...........
Thank you Guys, I am going to try it real quick, I am very happy to belong to a membership like this , there are real Talent here.
Again , Thanks to every one that explained it.

Very nice. I like the way you can see clouds moving in different directions.
How many frames did you shoot for that?

http://timelapsehd.ca/video.htmlI wonder how it can be 4K when it was shot with a 12MB camera.
