iv just taken a few landscape shots in low light with a slow shutter speed and seem to have alot of noise in it.
iso at 200,f stop 22 n shutter maxed out as it was a night shot with water.got the effect i was after but when putting it on my computer i noticed alot of noise.I did shoot it through a 7d and iv heard they can have noise issuesthat i dont get with my 1dsii.
Any thoughts in what went wrong!!!?

No thoughts until you post a photo and check "store original"
Lumpski, poor conditions often have noise. Also the f22 is creating a false condition, I presume to get more DoF or to blur water/clouds or something. I shoot in the middle of day with no sun and get noise. Even at ISO of 400 and f4-8. A foto would help. Noise isn't magic, it happens. I dont always have an explanation for my noise. Unfortunately don't see it till later when it's on my computer. I shoot a 5Dmkll.
How Slow Was Shutter Speed. I'd Be Looking At That As Problem.

13 sec
What strikes me more is that it's not super sharp. Possibly caused by diffraction from using f/22? Nothing a really good ND filter can't fix.
Nice shot though!

thank you!it was taken through a sigma 10-20 and the waves were lapping up to my tripod causing shake.was only a test shot as i want more clouds.im going to try it with a 17-40 for more distance from the waves.i used a polorized hoya uni filter.i have other shots in different angles but i liked this shot.More with the moon etc n ill try shots with the stars as a back drop!

Slightly out of focus but not noisy. I suggest you back off to f/16 or even f/11 and use a faster shutter speed. Actually it's a good shot, but I'd cut the reflection glare a bit.
Noise usually comes from three sources. Underexposure and Long Exposure.... and high ISO. Underexposure you see in the shadow areas and sometimes can not be helped. You can however select just the shadow areas or sky with a soft brush and run noise reduction on just those areas. Never on the main sharp subject area hopefully. When doing long exposures, make sure in Menu, that your long exposure noise reduction is turned ON. This takes the camera longer to process the image but it is usually worth it. The high ISO is a no-brainer, just use you low base ISO whenever possible.
does the cam have long exposure noise reduction. could be caused by sensor heat from long exposure.

Yes just a tic OOF...plus with moving water you get a softer look with long exposure. You see the fisherman on the end of the dock?

http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/E7D/E7DA5.HTM You can reduce long exposure noise using this option in your camera.
