Hi I was steered to this site my a friend who also enjoys photography, she thought I would enjoy what you all have to offer.

I love taking photo's but I have no real skills in that regard. I recently purchased a Nikon D5100 and would love to learn more about how to take advantage of all it has to offer. Right now I am simply getting accustomed to the lenses, and settings it has as well as all the extras. I'll attach a few photo's I have taken just as part of my introduction. Thanks for creating this site, I look forward to learning a lot!

Welcome, I also like #3 - I don't know how many times I stood on that same bridge and have taken that photo. It's easy for me since I only live 2 hours away.

[quote=RE] I am impressed with your Yosemite capture. I love Yosemite. I discovered HDR after I was there and want to go back and shoot again with HDR. What was good about yours is halfdome is exposed well and so is the close mountain hills on the right. David And welcome to the HOG.

Hi Angel Camp, you have got me by one hour as I live 3 hours away. We were back there today hiking to the waterfalls at Hetch Hetchy. I have never seen these falls because until recently I had no idea they existed, it was a great experience. Here is a photo of my husband walking across one of the three bridges that cross over the cascades of the waterfall.
