anyone ever install this on a canon eos camera i have a 60 d
Yes, but it does not install to the camera - it resides on your memory card.
I have a T2i, so some settings may be a little different, but I like the extra enhancements it allows.
I can't say it's a "Must Have", but I certainly find it handy.
Edit: Actually, if I remember correctly I did have to upgrade the Camera's firmware.

I have it on my t2i, and find it very useful, especially the the intervalometer settings, this alone saved me over $100.00. I recommend it, i find it very useful.

Magic Lantern is an add on for certain DSLR's that adds functionality to the camera. It runs from the memory card and not from the internal memory of the camera, so if you want to not use it you just insert another card that does not have it installed.

What does it do or offer if installed on the memory card of the camera?

Magic Lantern is a software enhancement that offers increased functionality to the excellent Canon DSLR cameras. We have created an open framework, licensed under GPL, for developing extensions to the official firmware.
Magic Lantern is not a "hack", or a modified firmware, it is an independent program that runs alongside Canon's own software. Each time you start your camera, Magic Lantern is loaded from your memory card. Our only modification was to enable the ability to run software from the memory card.
ML is being developed by photo and video enthusiasts, adding functionality such as: HDR images and video, timelapse, motion detection, focus assist tools, manual audio controls much more."
I ran across 'Magic Lantern' looking for why my t3i stops video recording after ~ 12 minutes (found out it was the 4 GB limit). ML can reduce recording bit rate. I keep seeing warnings 'ML is not responsible for damage to your camera and may void warranty'. I cannot find any reported damage to any camera. Any downside? I'm nervous about it but considering installing it anyway.
I downloaded it but alzó saw the warnings and was to chicken to instaló it I would love to use the time lapse HDR and Extended exposure times an i being Asís Mark
