Haven't purchased any but did find a number of videos on Utube about them even down to showing how they arrive in the mail and what the look like. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so you might want to have a look there for a cross section. Hope this helps

Adorama metal prints come with attached mounting on the back to make them stand out from the wall, they are not meant to be framed. As they are metal, they can be wiped clean! great for kitchens. This company is easy to talk to and has a quick turnaround and amazing packaging. If you check out their calendar, you will see they give free workshops on line and one is q&a, this is where I talked to him live about what I wanted to print and what I should do in photoshop to best show off the prints. He also helped with which type of finish I might want to choose.

I'm sure that most have seen Adoramas ad for metal prints. Has anyone gotten any?

I got a 16 x 20 Metal print from Bay Photo of my sons pic. of downtown Chicago, an HDR he worked on. It was his last yr. of college and his last art show. It arrived 3 days before the show and they did a wonderful job. He Won the Jury's High Merit and I have a wonderful wall hanger. Not all photos should be metal, but you can tell , with a good eye if they are candidates. I also found Red River 80# Polar Pearl Plus to really add to a fine photo.

It really funny that "metal prints" are listed as something new by most places that are doing them. They really are dye sublimation prints. Look that up and you will see how it's done. They also can be done on about 20 different types of metal. Check out your local trophy and award places of business. They most likely are doing dye sub work for the plaques on the trophies. Some award/dye sub shops have very large presses and can print on up to 40" pieces of metal.
I did dye sub work for over 15 years and yes there are tricks to do it correctly. Also the metal, its dye sub coating, how it acts to the heat, how the press is lifted and other work flow items all effect the final print.
Dye sub metal prints to me are like HDR to many others. It's frequently overdone, over saturated on the print out that is in reverse form then pressed through the dye sub coating. To each it's own but I don't care for them at all and I have done thousands of dye sub prints (under 4x6) over the years.

When I was teaching electronics - making printed circuit boards was one of the courses. One of my students decided to put a picture on a copper PC Board. Back then, a half tone screen was used to copy pictures on a Xerox photocopier so he put one of these screens over a negative and exposed the board. When it was etched, the image was etched in the copper. he then sprayed it with black paint and polished the surface of the board and there was the picture in the copper. It looked quite good.

I haven't had a metal print done by Adorama, but I ordered some as Christmas gifts from Bay Photo. They turned out beautifully.

My Dad, who's a talented but understated photographer, painstakingly went through all his photos and selected the perfect one for each family member, then used BayPhoto to create metal prints. I think he used different finishes depending on the photo. They are beautiful and elegant.

I have a series of Orchid photos all 8 x 8 size I was thinking of having printed on metal for a wall treatment. Maybe I'll order just one from Adorama to see how it will work out.

You used to be able to get silver and gold colored ink-jet photo paper. It is probably still out there somewhere.

I have a sunset photo on metal printed by Adorama. It is beautiful and the colors are brilliant. It came ready to hang with the raised structure on the back. I agree that your choice of photo should have some bright colors because the shiny metal finish will make it pop!

The camera store I go to wanted 10 of my photos to display in their store. And the manager did a metal print of my owl and it was stunning. I can't wait to get mine!
