Backlit sparrow.
I love playing with natural light. The other evening I was standing there with camera in hand looking at my garden.
Suddenly a sparrow flies by and lands in a Sand Cherry about 15 feet due west of me. And the sun was behind that. That bright sun sure made the bush come alive with colour.
I did the only thing I could do. I turned on the flash and set it to maximum output and aimed it directly toward the bird.
I was really surprised as to how well this photograph actually turned out.

Nice one! I really like the sun through the leaves! It is great how you got the sparrow too!
Lovely shot Tom, beautiful evening glowing colours.

I was surprised. Backlit doesn't usually turn out this nicely. Good capture.

I always know what I want to do and what to go for. But 99% of the time the results are dismal to say the least. I got much more than what I even intended with this one. Pure Luck. The good thing is that remember exactly how I went about it. Thank you for looking.
