Hi everyone,
Bit of advice needed please. I'm thinking of purchasing Lightroom 7 but already have "ON perfect photo suite 7" and I can't make my mind up whether to purchase Lightroom or not? Are there any benefits to having and operating both? I know I have to make the final call but any help would be gratefully received. Thanks peoples.
Regards, Graham.

Lightroom 7 will be out (probably) in two - three years from now. Do you mean Lightroom 4?

On Photo is a great post processing program, But it doesn't catalog photos like Lightroom. Get Both and use LR for downloading cataloging printing etc and any photo that need additional post processing use On Photo

Hello Graham - Over the past few weeks I've been agonising over the same issue. I currently use photoshop 2, hence the need to upgrade, but to what? In the first instance I try to get it right 'in-camera', so I just need a little tweaking on shapening, perhaps exposure and at times on colour saturation. I don't use all the facilities in Photoshop, so I was thinking about an abridged PPD and having consulted widely I'm now focused (no pun intended!) on Lightroom with Topaz Denoise and Topaz Detail 3 as add-ons. Now my only delema is, should I buy Lightroom 4 or wait for Lightroom 5 to become available and how long will that be?

You can try both in the mean time but LR4 + the LR5 upgrade probably won't be any different than the LR5 by itself.

I got LR4 free. I purchased LR3 right before LR4 came out and Adobe gave LR4 free to anyone who had purchased LR3 within something like 60 days of the release of LR4.

I have been very happy with the results I get from LR4 (and I'm currently playing around with the free LR5 Beta) and my copy of Photo Suite 6 set up to use as one of my plug ins. You will be the best judge of the usefulness and functionality of the two programs so its hard to make a strong recommendation one way or the other. Try comparing the free LR5 Beta with Photo Suite and you will likely be able to make an informed decision. Good luck.

I think you are referring to onOne Software's product Perfect Photo Suite 7 which, by the way will have a new upgrade to 7.5. It is a wonderful plug-in which can be used in Lightroom, Photoshop and Elements. Great support. I love what this powerful and rather inexpensive software does for me.

After using Photoshop as my main image processor for years, I started using LR4 and now except for very special things like extracting from a background or need for layers, I only use LR. Adjustment brush is great.

Lightroom 5 Beta is out right now and you can download it for free and it's good until June.
