Orange Still Life

A dear person put a bug in my ear to share Orange Still Life here, so I thought what the heck! I found a still life of some lemons that I loved and tried to get he same feel with oranges. This was my first go at setting up and staging a still life so it was mostly about trying different settings and shooting. I used a black card board background and natural light from french doors behind me. I took probably 40 shots in all, some with flash, some without.
The photo was edited in Photoshop, I used a tripod because of the low light. All suggestions are welcome! Thanks for looking! :)

Hi ghorse and Welcome to the group :) This is a very pleasing shot, I too saw something like this on utube, where the photographs showed different food items merged into various objects. This is a good effort and the only thing I may have done was crop a little more from the right hand side..please keep experimenting, I like to see alternative shots..tfp..

Robbie 7, thanks for taking a look and for your comments. Guess I was trying a bit too hard on the rule of threes, I can see it would be better with less empty space on the right. Good to be here! :)
